Before you can get started with your obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) treatment, you need to find out for sure whether or not you have this condition. Normally, patients must visit a sleep laboratory to undergo testing. That takes an entire night and can be bothersome! In contrast, we offer a more convenient way for patients in Mesa to get a sleep apnea diagnosis: the WatchPat home sleep study. Continue reading below to learn more.
An at home sleep test features a small, easy-to-use device that monitors you while you sleep. It collects data that a sleep expert can analyze to determine if you have OSA, how severe your condition may be, and whether you require further testing for other types of sleep disorders.

After we make sure that you are a good candidate for a WatchPAT home sleep test, we will send you home with the monitoring equipment. We will also provide some simple instructions that will help you set things up correctly and avoid mistakes that might skew your results.
WatchPAT technology is designed to be user-friendly. Unlike some other home sleep tests, it does not require the use of a nasal cannula or a large belt that you must wear around your chest. Rather, you wear it like a simple wristwatch! It also involves the use of a finger probe and optional chest monitor. Together, these little components can collect a lot of important data.
All you have to do is wear the WatchPAT gear for a night before returning it to us on the next business day. After the data gets analyzed, we will contact you to talk about your results and inform you about your next steps.
WatchPAT sleep testing is a no-risk diagnostic service that is suitable for almost anyone who is experiencing symptoms of OSA, such as snoring and excessive tiredness. Keep in mind, however, that it is designed specifically to aid in providing a sleep apnea diagnosis. It is not able to provide data that can lead to an accurate diagnosis of other sleep disorders.
